Jackson Municipal Airport
The Jackson Municipal Airport, located within the City, provides a 3,600 foot paved and lit runway for General Aviation.
The Jackson Municipal Airport is equipped with two runways.
- Runway 31-13 is a hard surface and is 3,600 feet long.
- Runway 22-04 is a turf runway and is 2,300 feet long; this runway is closed in the winter months.
Services at the Airport include:
- Self service fuel 100LL and jet A with full service upon request.
- Full service Aircraft Maintenance is available at the Airport five days a week with 24 hour emergency service available thru PS Aviation, Inc.
- Arrival/Departure Building has MNWas Weather Station computer available.
- This building is also equipped with a Pilots Briefing Room, Conference Room and Restrooms.
- Tie Down area and Hangar space available to those needing short term and long term aircraft storage.
- Courtesy Car is available.

PRAIRIE WINDS KITE-FLY:
The Airport is host to the annual Prairie Winds Kite-fly, the first Saturday in September after Labor Day. FREE ADMISSION and open to the public! Ample space is available on the airport grounds to accommodate the serious kite enthusiasts, as well as, the casual flier. Fliers of all ages are welcome. Or just bring your chair and enjoy watching the kites fly. For more information check out the Prairie Ecology Bus website.
FLY-IN BREAKFAST:
The Airport hosts an annual Fly-In Breakfast the first Sunday in September after Labor Day. The Fly-In Breakfast is for people of all ages, from the young to the young at heart; for those that fly, those interested in flying and for those with no desire to fly, just a desire for a good breakfast.

The City of Jackson is constantly doing projects at the airport to maintain and improve the facility. Many of these projects are State and Federally funded. As a requirement to receive these dollars the City is required to have a program that spells out its goals for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. Please see the attached documents for more information. The goals for 2022 and 2023 are 5.4% and 3%, respectively.
