Public Works Director Named!

City of Jackson Names its First Ever Public Works Director!

The City of Jackson is excited to announce that Tony Oxborough has been appointed to be City’s first every Public Works Director!  Tony began his career with the City of Jackson in 2013 as a Water/Wastewater Operator and was promoted to the position of Water/Wastewater Superintendent in 2018.   He will begin is duties as Public Works Director starting May 1st.

In his role as Public Works Director Oxborough will oversee the City’s Water, Wastewater, Streets, Parks and Trails operations.  Mayor Marcus Polz says “Tony continues to bring a passion for our community and citizens. His forward thinking vision and leadership will help us with our current and future growth opportunities." 

The City began its search for a Public Works Director back in February when it decided to consolidate the departments in an effort to promote greater efficiencies and potential cost savings as was suggested by a recent study the City had conducted.
