Water Plant Update

WATER PLANT UPDATE: Our rehab project is continuing. The media filter has been back online since December 7th and the old water is now out of our system. The good news is Manganese levels have dropped from an average of 254ug/l to 136ug/l. However, 100ug/l or lower is where we need to be.

We are moving in the right direction but still high enough that we need to continue to advise that infants under the age of one to continue to not consume the water. Once our chemical pump improvements are done that will allow us to start pumping permanganate into our filtering process. When this is complete our manganese levels are expected to fall to average of 48ug/l. The work on the chemical pump improvements is expected to start the week of January 8th.

We will provide further updates then. For more information on the potential health effects of manganese click here

Thank you for your patience.
