ENERGY ALERT: CONSERVE ENERGY AND PREPARE FOR ROLLING BLACKOUTS TODAY 8-24-2023

The City of Jackson has received an Energy Alert from MISO (Our Regional Electric Grid Operator) that MISO has declared a Max Gen Event starting at 11 a.m. today continuing through 9 p.m. this evening.  Please conserve electricity and prepare for possible rolling blackouts as the electric grid may not be able to meet customer demand today due to the extreme heat.  We will not have any warning of when blackouts may occur.  Please remember this from our regional electrical grid operator and far above and beyond the control of the City of Jackson.  Thank you for your cooperation.
