Water Plant Media Filter Project Update

WATER PLANT MEDIA FILTER REHABILITATION PROJECT UPDATE: The water treatment plant improvement project is currently on track to meet the scheduled completion date of March 31, 2024, and may even be completed a week or two earlier. Once the project is completed, the manganese level in the City’s water will return to be below the Minnesota Department of Health’s (MDH’s) health based-limit of 100 micrograms per liter and will be safe for infants and health sensitive consumers to drink. Current levels are around 136 micrograms.

The City will be testing the manganese levels in the water and will notify the public when test results are consistently below the recommended manganese limit of 100 micrograms per liter level.  For more information on manganese and drinking water visit https://www.health.state.mn.us/.../contami.../manganese.html
