Position Objectives:
The Transfer RN provides basic life support and advanced life support care to patients during inter-hospital ambulance transfers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide basic life support care to patients during inter-hospital transfers.
- Provide advanced life support care to patients during inter-hospital transfers, including but not limited to:
- Managing intravenous infusion pumps
- Managing mechanical ventilators
- Managing cardiac monitors/defibrillators
- Performing advanced critical procedures such as needle decompression, surgical cricothyrotomy, intubation, and resuscitative measures.
- Administering medications, including both controlled and non-controlled substances
- Managing the administration of whole blood products
- Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as a registered nurse.
- Complete electronic patient care reports describing a patient’s condition, medical history, and the treatments provided.
- Provide the appropriate documentation for billing information.
- Complete an emergency vehicle operators’ course and safely operate an ambulance.
- Participate in continuing education relevant to the position, including four (4) mandatory in-person trainings per year.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minnesota Registered Nurse license
- Experience as an RN in an emergency room or ICU
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
- Minnesota driver’s license
- Residency within a 60-minute radius of the Jackson Ambulance Service station
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing inter-hospital transfer care on an ambulance
- AHA instructor
- Residency within a 30-minute radius of the Jackson Ambulance Service station
Benefits:
- $26/hr to $32/hr pay rate
