Economic Development Authority (EDA)
The City of Jackson created an Economic Development Authority (EDA) in 1989 through a state statute. The primary purpose of the Jackson EDA is housing. The EDA is responsible for the development of Wedgewood apartments, Eagle Ridge apartments, West Ridge, and Sunset View Subdivisions. The EDA has taxing authority, which will raise about $23,000 in 2009 and is calculated from the tax value of the City.
The EDA has two (2) subdivisions in the City of Jackson, with lots available in each. There are also various other single lots available throughout town.

The EDA meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at noon in City Hall. Their meeting minutes are public and can be found here. There are seven members of the EDA Board, all of whom are appointed by the City Council. Two of their members must be City Council members. The Economic Development Coordinator of the Jackson EDA.
